A Prayer for Winter (when the world is sleeping)

                            

                        Oh God, send us a Cardinal;

                          a bright visitor flitting
                          across the landscape of this
                          wide and dimly lit world
                          that lies sleeping.

                       Send us a moment of beauty

                          to reawaken us,
                          just one bright messenger of Hope.
